TINY TIGERS

Wednesday, Friday: 10:45am - 11:30am

The Way of the Hand and Foot:
The Origin of Taekwondo

Taekwondo is a Korean martial art which was introduced to the United States after WWII.  Its popularity grew globally and in 2000 became an official sport of the Olympics.  It is known for its speed and kicks.

The Five Tenets of Taekwondo sum up the philosophy of the martial art and what drives our instruction:   Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, Indomitable Spirit.

What Are the Benefits of Tiny Tiger Training?

Tiny Tigers is designed specifically with preschoolers, 3 -4 year olds, in mind.  The mental and physical aspects of martial arts training will help build skills needed in school and for future martial arts training.

Examples of Benefits:

  • Routine and Repetition: Attending classes regularly and having a predictable,  structured class is highly desirable for learning at this age.

  • Mental Training:  Tiny Tigers will build listening skills; directional skills (left, right, up, down, etc);  and memory skills as they learn new techniques and practice their new skillls.

  • Physical Training:  As they learn basic Taekwondo stances, blocks, punches, and kicks, Tiny Tiger will gain balance, coordination, and strength.  Games and drills will also improve stamina and flexibility in a safe and fun environment.

  • Cooperation and Social Interaction:  Tiny Tigers will learn how to train and play, as a group.  Classes are the perfect opportunity for youngsters to make new friends and practice social skills.
