SUMMER CAMP

Camp Cancelled for 2022

Camp Hours:  8:00am - 5:00pm

Extended Pick-Up:  6:00pm

Staying Sharp During the Summer:
Mind and Body

We like to start our mornings with "Brain Games"--puzzles, brain teasers, activities that use logic, spatial reasoning, and creativity.  We also devote time during the day for math and reading practice, so students stay sharp even when school is out.

Typical Activities

Because of COVID, we've pivoted into an accelerated taekwondo camp.  Campers will train the equivalent of two classes a day,  with daily conditioning workouts, and weekly pre-testing.  If campers work hard, they might be able to test for a lower belt after a 5-week session, or a higher belt after two 5-week sessions.

Sample Summer Schedule

Mornings will open with Brain Games, then campers will alternate between Taekwondo training and reading/math sessions, four days a week (M-Th).  A quick conditioning class will bring everyone together before lunch.  We'll head out to lunch at a local park, where campers can get some fresh air and outdoor play.   After lunch there's another Taekwondo session, which includes forms and fitness pre-tests.  Fun Fridays will be set aside for group activities, arts and crafts, and possible field trips.

How to Prepare

Parents will need to pack daily:

  • Lunches and snacks in an INSULATED lunch bag (no refrigerator available)

  • Lots of water or a refillable water bottle

  • Masks

  • Uniform

  • Sunscreen

Campers need to wear play clothes and sneakers for outdoor play.  Sandals, dresses, long pants are less suited for physical activities.
