Why Muay Thai?
The martial art of "eight limbs," Muay Thai is sometimes called Thai boxing. It uses fists, elbows, knees, and shins for stand-up striking. Unlike other martial arts, there is no belt system or testing, just training. Whether you want to lose weight, get toned, or learn new skills, you can't help but reap the benefits of Muay Thai's perfect blend of cardio, strength, and endurance training.
As women, we often overlook our own needs, putting family, friends, and work before ourselves. Invest in yourself this year. Find the power in your body and gain skills that could potentially protect yourself in the future.
Conditioning Meets Confidence
Regular training will teach you how to punch, kick, and strike with your fists, elbows, shins, and knees. Hard work will tone your legs, back, core and arms. You'll see your body change. After executing that first kick with perfection and power or jumping rope for 3 minutes straight...watch your confidence soar!
Class Structure
A typical class will include some of the following activities:
Warm-Up: Jump rope, running, full body exercises
Technique: Learn and practice kicks and strikes on/off pads and bags, with/without partners
Conditioning: Circuit training to strengthen specific body parts, build endurance
Cool Down: Stretching
What to Expect
Expect to be pushed. This is more than an exercise class because you'll learn proper execution of every shin kick, hook, jab, elbow or knee strike. Since this class is only for women, we can focus on training, sweating, and having fun -- safely! Remember, the harder you work the more endorphins, or “happy” hormone, you'll release. That's why working out is an amazing stress reliever and energy booster. After every class, you might be tired and sore, but you’ll feel great!
